How to export a chat
  1. In WhatsApp, open the chat. Tap ⋮ at the top right, then More, then Export chat. On an iPhone, tap the chat's name at the top, then Export Chat.
  2. Choose Include media to see photos and videos too, or Without media for text only.
  3. Save the file to your phone or Drive, then open it here.

WhatsApp puts only the newest messages of a very long chat in the export: about 10,000 with media, or 40,000 without.
